Operations Geologist I

Working with a team of geologists and engineers to geosteer horizontal wellbores in multiple plays within the division. Operations geologists are responsible for analyzing and integrating data to make meaningful interpretations that guide the geosteering process both before and during the drilling of wells. Additional responsibilities include utilizing geologic data to create preliminary well plans, oversight of all geoscience related data acquisition during the drilling operation and continuous monitoring of incoming data, making adjustments to the drilling plan as needed.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in geology, earth science, or a related field. Experience in operations geology and geosteering preferred. Strong computer skills are required along with a willingness to learn new software packages. Successful candidates will also be self-motivated and driven to see projects succeed. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are a must. Operational activities are ongoing 24 hours/day and candidates must have the ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
