The Sr. Automation Coordinator provides essential Automation/SCADA technical support to the Denver Division five major asset teams and the Measurement Services teams along with leading the ‘Software Applications Team’. The Sr. Automation Coordinator will design, implement, configure, and operate the company’s Automation oil and gas production systems. The position ensures that Automation is configured in accordance with company, industry and regulatory standards and/or contractual requirements while meeting asset personnel needs (the customer). Position provides Automation support to Asset personnel to promote field operational efficiencies as well as design and troubleshoot Automation systems. This resource will resolve problems in the areas of Automation and Automation Communications (Radio, Cell Modem and Satellite). Sr. Automation Coordinator will play a key role in the development and compilation of Automation standards, drawings, technical configuration information and standardized policies/procedures. Sr. Automation Coordinator will lead Automation Projects and will assist the Automation Engineer with process improvement studies and projects, quality assurance programs, training of field personnel, RF engineering and safety compliance.
Responsibilities for this position include managing computer and application software infrastructure in support of critical Automation projects and business application interfaces. Project work may include all or part of the following: assessments, analysis, developing a detailed scope of work, preparation of cost estimates, expenditures forecasting, acquisitions, equipment specification review and development, bid evaluations, installation drawings, budgeting and installation plans.
The Sr. Automation Coordinator will have responsibility in the following areas: remote terminal units (RTU), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), electronic flow meters (EFM), automation instrumentation and devices, Automation configuration, data mapping, tag naming, tag aliasing, facility naming, facility attribute design, graphic screen design and configuration, security, polling schedules, alarming, callout, wireless communications devices, and communications infrastructure. The position will provide support for the integration of production, measurement, automation, compression and plant control data into Automation or the enterprise historian to facilitate asset team decision making, reporting needs and regulatory requirements. The Sr. Automation Coordinator is responsible for managing big picture resources and projects, keeping apprised of technological advances and industry standards in areas of work to drive technology forward, and mentoring, training and developing team staff.
