Primary focus on air permitting for minor and major sources and air compliance in multiple states, emphasis Texas and New Mexico. Assists in the completion of air quality emission estimates, potential to emit evaluations, emission inventories, greenhouse gas reporting and permit applications. Review federal, state, and local air quality regulations to identify requirements that apply to upstream oil and gas activities and effectively apply applicable regulations and requirements to permitting activities.
Maintain working knowledge of all local, state, and federal regulations and emerging regulatory changes that may impact EOG operations. Provide comments on impacts of proposed regulations to EOG operations. Participate and perform annual environmental inspections. Coordinate and perform required environmental training for operations personnel. Coordinate reporting of safety and environmental incidents internally and externally as required. Coordinate and provide on-site representation for environmental agency inspections and represent EOG in any follow up meetings with regulating agencies as required. Coordinate preparation and implementation of air permits for the Midland Division. Review and coordinate with operations in implementation of environmental stewardship practices for the division. Willing to travel up to 30%.
3+ years’ experience in Environmental air permitting and compliance, with oil and gas industry experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Biology preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Strong technical knowledge. Broad knowledge of environmental laws and regulations (e.g., EPA, TCEQ, NMED, etc.) Must have experience with BR&E ProMax modeling software, E&P Tanks, GRI-GLYCalc, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with excellent communications and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively with others at all levels. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adjust quickly to changes in priorities while working with minimal supervision. Ability to exercise sound judgment.
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
