Water Resources Technician II

The Water Resources Tech role in the Produced Water Command Center is primarily responsible for maintaining and optimizing the produced water gathering systems and Leak Detection System (LDS) in the Bakken Core & Lite, Stateline, Antelope basin in ND and Powder River, DJ Basins in WY. The secondary responsibility will be to develop and lead a team of operators to provide 24-hour monitoring and remote operations of both the LDS and gathering/disposal operations.
Monitor the leak detection systems in three of the basins of Denver division.
Maintain continuous operations to allow for transfer of produced water from production facilities for disposal or reuse by: remotely controlling facility pumps, booster stations and SWD’s in order to maintain the designated flow rates and pressures required in each system. Rates exceeding 60,000 BWPD
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools while working with program developers and Cygnet personnel to tune each system.
Proactively ensure the highest level of system and infrastructure integrity
Train new operators and continue to develop the skills of existing operators
Perform scheduled leak tests and maintain emergency leak response plan, having the ability to remotely shut down of effected systems.
Gather and record data, volumes, and pressures to provide reports to management for produced water and fresh water transfer operations.
Management of alarms to identify issues and direct field personnel to minimize downtime and obtain safe operations of the pipeline.
High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years of basic oilfield experience required, with Lease Operating or Water Resources experience preferred and good understanding of fluid mechanics and hydraulics. Computer skills must include a proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn internal and external programs. Additional consideration will be given for leak detection systems experience and SCADA and Cygnet systems experience. Must be able to work independently or in a team environment, with strong time management, prioritization and organization. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
