Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting journal entries for cost allocations, partner billings, accruals.
Accumulate data for monthly and quarterly reporting.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare correcting journal entries, if needed.
Analyze operating expense or capital costs general ledger accounts and other ad hoc analysis requests assigned.
Other tasks as assigned.
This position will entail developing a well-rounded knowledge of the Company's operations, cost accounting processes and systems, and COPAS accounting guidelines with particular emphasis on joint interest billing, overhead calculation, materials, and cost allocation requirements.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Will also consider Finance or Business degrees with a minimum of 18 accounting hours.
One or more years of oil and gas industry accounting experience with a concentration in operations accounting is preferred
Requires strong organization and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Good computer skills and a proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
Knowledge of SQL, AS/400 system and MS Query a plus.
Must be able to work and communicate effectively with others within and outside the organization.
Position will be filled a level commensurate with experience.
