The Title Associate will reside on the Land Administration Support Services Team. Their primary role shall be to support various Division Order functions of the title team analysts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research and process stale and returned royalty checks.
Utilize Lexis Nexis and various public data systems in attempt to locate owners. Issue address verification letters in relation to these findings.
Review rental and royalty escheat candidates for both the Texas/Michigan and All Other States (AOS) escheat cycles. This includes performing thorough research of suspense data for owners who have reached dormancy, while meeting various reporting deadlines and ensuring compliance with escheat laws and state guidelines.
Process returned escheat due diligence letters and send necessary follow-up correspondence to escheat candidates.
Process suspense releases and ownership transfers in relation to both past and present escheat candidate findings.
Create Call Center inquiries for the release of identified trapped funds, routing these inquiries to Accounting for handling.
In conjunction with the escheat review process, save supporting documents to individual files and update suspense tracking.
Collaborate with title team analysts pertaining to the review and collection of records and the preparation of communications related to stale and returned royalty checks.
Communicate with title team analysts as needed during escheat rounds to promote thorough completion of escheat efforts.
Perform all stated duties in compliance with EOG's SOX control functions and operational processes, placing focus on promotion of data integrity.
Job Requirements
General knowledge of the upstream side of the oil and gas industry
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills
High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and be adaptable to changing needs and priorities
Proven professionalism in the handling of confidential and proprietary information
Comfortable and confident in learning new computer applications
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred
