The primary focus is the coordination of the full-cycle leave of absence process in accordance with applicable company policies, and state and federal regulations, while ensuring compliance with FMLA and ADA rules and regulations. Coordination includes initial employee contact to Return-to-Work or termination.
Work with peers to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and tasks. Partners with HR Generalists, HR Benefits, and HR Payroll to ensure benefit and payroll coordination are maintained and processed accurately. Use a variety of software and databases to perform data entry, to extract and identify required information, and to prepare communications, letters, reports and confidential documents.
Job Description:
Analyze FMLA and other company paid leave benefits to determine employee eligibility
Coordinate and track FMLA and leaves of absence with state programs and internal paid time off policies
Maintain leave and compliance records in accordance with state and federal laws
Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities including state specific disability plans and leave of absence laws
Assist with communicating and educating managers and employees with leave of absence and FMLA benefits
Maintain SAMBA Safety monitoring program for use of company vehicle
Use good interpersonal and communication skills to achieve organizational service goals for customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.
Other compliance projects and risk assessments as assigned
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred
3+ years experience in Human Resources preferred
Recent experience processing leaves of absence as a primary job function
Experience working in a confidential environment and ability to maintain confidential data
Must be able to communicate in clear concise manner and have strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Strong knowledge of software applications including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding employment and compliance
Critical thinking skills to identify, research, conduct analysis, and recommend solutions to complex needs
