EOG's Land Administration department is seeking an experienced oil and gas title professional to join the team as a Senior Title Analyst, with primary responsibilities centered on lease and division order analysis. This role is essential to supporting EOG's exploration and production objectives by ensuring timely lease payments, accurate royalty distribution, and current interest ownership across all records. The ideal candidate brings experience interpreting and applying lease terms, performing ownership updates, and handling royalty-related matters, and thrives in a highly collaborative, detail‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor lease status and transfer acreage to producing based on plats and unit summaries
Coordinate with division landmen through the land calendar to tender lease extension, minimum royalty, shut‑in, and other required payments, and ensure all lease obligations are met
Interpret and apply lease provisions and terms of contracts, including communitization agreements, unit declarations, joint operating agreements, and farmout agreements
Perform well-record maintenance for EOG‑operated properties using information received from division operations
Build and maintain joint interest billing decks based on approved title reports
Analyze title opinions and division of interest spreadsheets to create and maintain complex burdened division of interest decks for producing properties
Review curative and conveyance documents - including deeds, probate filings, and assignments - to update mineral, royalty, and working interest ownership
Communicate with interest owners to resolve inquiries and obtain documentation necessary for title curative and owner account updates
Verify EOG's ownership interest in outside‑operated wells
Provide support for acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence, audits, data conversions, and escheatment
Collaborate effectively with Land, Legal, Accounting, and other internal departments to support company objectives
Perform all duties in compliance with EOG's SOX control requirements and operational processes, with a strong emphasis on data integrity
Job Requirements
Required:
5+ years of experience in Land Administration working as a Lease Analyst or Division Order Analyst
Broad experience analyzing and interpreting oil and gas leases, contracts, title opinions, deeds, assignments, probate documents, and other title curative materials
Solid understanding of ownership structures and the ability to compute varied interest types
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build constructive rapport with owners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new computer applications and systems
Proven ability to manage a high‑volume workload, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Commitment to working effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
Demonstrated professionalism in handling confidential and proprietary information
High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
Prior experience working for an operator
Experience working title in both Texas and other major U.S. oil‑producing states
Familiarity with federal leasing and unitization
RL, RPL, CPLTA, or CDOA
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
