This position is responsible for the generation of oil and gas prospects, the evaluation of new and existing drilling opportunities, and the development and supervision of an active drilling program throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Qualified candidates will be experienced in detailed geologic mapping, effective play potential characterization, core/well log interpretation, and well planning/operations. In addition, candidates should be current on all applicable technologies and will be able to handle a high volume of data. This position requires the ability to work in a team environment with drilling, land, regulatory, and engineering personnel to take prospects from concept through completion in a fast-paced drilling program. This position requires a familiarity with computer-based geological applications and excellent presentation skills.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Geology/Geophysics; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of related oil and gas experience. Prospecting experience in a variety of structural and stratigraphic styles is desired. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to incorporate geology and engineering data to determine horizontal development locations and reservoir evaluation.
