We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Analyst to join our Accounting Technology team. This role serves as a key liaison between business and Technology teams, supporting ERP initiatives, system enhancements, software implementations, and business process improvements.
The ideal candidate brings strong oil and gas industry knowledge along with experience in business analysis, enterprise systems, and functional testing. This individual will partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technology solutions and help lead initiatives from requirements through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Accounting, Operations, and Technology teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear functional requirements.
Lead requirements gathering, process analysis, solution design, and documentation for system enhancements and implementations.
Apply oil and gas industry knowledge to evaluate business processes, system impacts, and integration requirements.
Support ERP upgrades, application enhancements, software implementations, and modernization initiatives.
Develop and execute test plans and scenarios for functional, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Identify, document, prioritize, and track system defects through resolution.
Support data conversion, system integration, implementation, and post-production stabilization activities.
Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls, and increase efficiency through technology and automation.
Communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to business and Technology stakeholders.
Provide guidance and mentorship to other analysts and contribute to business analysis and testing best practices.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, accounting, technology, or the oil and gas industry.
Strong functional understanding of upstream oil and gas business processes.
Experience supporting ERP systems, enterprise applications, system enhancements, or software implementations.
Demonstrated experience with requirements gathering, process analysis, and functional solution design.
Hands-on experience with functional, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with upstream oil and gas accounting or operational applications.
Knowledge of business areas such as Revenue, Production, JIB, Land, Operations, or Financial Accounting.
Experience with ERP implementations, system modernization, data conversion, or system integrations.
Familiarity with Agile or hybrid software development methodologies.
Experience with SQL, reporting, or data analysis tools.
