Effectively communicate with Revenue Accounting, Production Accounting, Land Administration, and State account examiners as necessary to ensure compliance with all State regulations. 
Duties will also include but not be limited to the following: 
  • Process, verify for accuracy, and reconcile monthly severance tax or royalty reports as needed.
  • Assist with regulatory special projects as necessary, including regulatory discrepancy notices and State tax exemption filings.
  • File corrected reports and assist with audits, volumetric reviews, and exemption filing requests.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable State Regulations (ND, WY, NM, TX, OK, OH).
  • Assist with implementing State legislative changes and reporting system improvement projects.
  • Collaborate on State audit issues and provide support on consultant special projects and requests.
  • Reconcile or review applicable State royalty and tax account reconciliations as required.   
  • Review Audit assessments and PPA amendments and adjustments. Coordinate clearing of such transactions as needed in a timely manner to avoid associated fees. 

Job Requirements


A business degree with 18 hours of accounting preferred. CPA a plus, 8+ years of regulatory reporting or relevant oil and gas revenue accounting experience required. Familiarity with Plant Processing and experience with TX, WY, and/or NM Royalty/Severance reporting/regulations a plus. Working knowledge of and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient in MS Excel and SQL script a plus. Ability to gather and communicate data logically, accurately, and concisely. Position requires sound analytical ability. Must be able to meet rigorous deadlines and work effectively with others. Must be able to perform most assignments with minimal supervision.
