The engineer will work in a fast-paced group of other engineers and geoscientists to bring forward existing and emerging technologies and chemistries for net reductions in COemissions from stationary combustion sources.  This job will consist of research and development of potential new liquid CO2 solvents as well as integrated design, installation, and operations of such new systems.


  • Works in multidisciplinary team to develop and test new COsolvent chemistries with abilities to resist degradation from oxygen and reduce heat duty and circulation rate of regeneration 
  • Designs and implements CO2 separation systems for small to medium size stationary emissions sources (5,000 to 100,000 MTY)
  • Develops budgets and shepherds Authority For Expenditures (AFE) through approval process
  • Leads project management efforts to install newly developed systems on existing or newly installed emission sources
  • Works within larger team of geologists and reservoir engineers to develop overall CO2 reduction strategy 

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field of study
  • 8+ years experience in Carbon Capture or related work (5+ year experience if candidate holds Master's degree in related field of study)
  • Fundamental knowledge of combustion science and natural gas processing
  • Ability to successfully project manage small to medium size construction projects
  • Strong quantitative/analytical problem-solving skills
  • Optimistic critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in basic financial modeling including 45Q tax incentive credits
  • Proficient in Pro-Max or other similar process simulator
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
